Board of Directors
Currently, there is a five member Board of Directors consisting of representatives of participating monitoring organizations
It is proposed that there will be a rotation of the board of directors on an annual basis and that the board must consist of a balance of members of the monitoring industry as independent auditors or those who represent involvement in small to large and commercial to non-profit organizations conducting workplace auditing.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the legal and financial governance of the GMI. There are equal voting rights between all Board of Directors.
Stakeholder Council
The Stakeholder Council is comprised of NGOs, Brands, Worker Representatives, Organizations, Government, Academia, etc. The Stakeholder Board will approve all elements of the operation and framework of the GMI such as auditor level/training approval and auditor discipline.
It is proposed that the Stakeholder Council be separated into functional committees based on the council members' respective interests and focus, specifically as they are working with existing working groups on the below topics:
The Management will be responsible for daily operation of GMI and implementation of policies and procedures approved by the Stakeholder Council. Currently, there are no full-time staff for GMI, though funding is being gathered to support an executive director by 2011.
